Exchange Migration
The best way to do an Exchange migration is to use a 3rd workstation running Outlook 2003 with Service Pack 1, the latest Kerio Outlook Connector, the latest release of the migration wizard, and installation of the attached files. This 3rd computer must also participate in the NT or active directory domain.
The following steps must all be performed on the 3rd computer running Outlook 2003.
- On the 3rd computer (not the Exchange or Kerio server), download and install the most current version of the Outlook Connector from this location:
http://www.kerio.com/download.php?lang=us&product=kmapi6-win
- Install the Exchange migration tool from the KMS download page onto the 3rd computer.
- It is a good idea to disable or uninstall any antivirus that is installed on the 3rd system
- Open a dos window and drag the migration wizard into the window, then put a space and put the host name of the exchange server. You may want to first ping the name to be sure it resolves. ONLY USE NAMES. IP addresses will not work. If the name does not resolve, the migration will fail with a misleading error saying that it must be run on the Exchange server. Also, if you cannot connect to port 143 (IMAP) on the Exchange server, it will fail.
- The GUI should come up. Follow the steps provided.
If you still have problems, make sure the Outlook on the 3rd workstation can log into Exchange as the Exchange administrator. Also, be sure you are an Exchange Administrator.
