Please send any information about how the email was created (i.e., which email client and version was used to create the original email) and if there were any replies which email client and version was used for the replies.

If you can create the problem reliably, please include step-by-step instructions on how we can reproduce this problem on our test servers.

Some known issues.
  1. Bug 2048 - Handling of winmail.dat. This is the problem with RTF or TNEF formatted emails.
  2. Bug 8778 and/or bug 8406. These emails should be fixed in 6.1.1.
  3. Replies from Yahoo or Hotmail can have messed up encoding because those web based email servers only use one encoding -- usually the first encoding in the email. The quoted replies will often appear wrong.
  4. Bug 11972. The way to test this is to look in the email source for UTF16 or UTF-16. If the email appears correctly in Outlook, but in Chinese characters in webmail, it is most likely this bug. Fixed in 6.1.1 patch 1.
  5. Bug 11419 -- Blank emails in Apple mail. This is actually Apple bug 4043505.
  6. Bug 11481 -- Messages in UTF-8 are corrupted after farwarding in UTF-8 -- fixed in 6.1.2.
