The Synchronization Plugin and related issues

This document describes how to create a fully functional Outlook account using the synchronization plugin with an IMAP account in Outlook 2003. Note, all of these steps are also possible in Outlook XP and 2000, but those versions are not covered here.

What the synchronization plugin is. You can have calendar, contacts, and public folders in offline mode. The synchronization plugin works well with IMAP and POP3 accounts. A complete email solution involves handling the problems users have with IMAP and marking email as spam/not-spam (ham/spam).

IMAP issues. See the document about IMAP issues.

Junk Email Starting in Kerio MailServer 6.1, you can mark an email as spam by moving it to the "Junk E-mail" folder. Moving an email from the "Junk E-mail" folder marks it as "Not Spam." The siev filers from Webmail can do this automatically for emails detected as spam by the mailserver.

A button which runs a VBA script to move emails to the "Junk E-mail" would be the ultimate solution. If you have such a script, please send me an email.
